1. Testing method for air conditioning performance indicators

The testing method for air conditioning performance indicators mainly includes five core steps: clarifying the testing objectives, building the system architecture, arranging liquid and liquid sensors, designing a data acquisition system, and executing the testing process, as follows

1. The testing objectives need to clearly verify the core performance indicators of the air conditioning system, including cooling/heating efficiency (COP value), cooling capacity, and heating capacity; Monitor the dynamic changes in refrigerant quality and flow rate; Optimize the collaborative control logic between the compressor and expansion valve; Analyze the pressure stability of high and low pressure pipelines; Evaluate the reliability of the system under extreme operating conditions (such as 60 ℃ high temperature exposure, -20 ℃ low temperature cold start)

2. System architecture and key nodes The air conditioning system consists of an electric compressor (starting point on the high-pressure side) → condenser → liquid storage dryer → expansion valve → evaporator (passenger compartment refrigeration) → gas-liquid separator → compressor inlet (end point on the low-pressure side) forming a closed loop. The additional circuit includes a battery cooler (coupled with the air conditioning system for battery thermal management) and a PTC heater (auxiliary heat source for heating mode). Key measurement nodes need to cover the compressor outlet, condenser outlet, expansion valve inlet, evaporator outlet, compressor inlet, and battery cooler inlet and outlet to comprehensively capture system operating parameters. Refrigerant mass flow meter
flowmeter directly measures refrigerant mass flow rate with an accuracy of ± 0.2%; Thermal flow meters are suitable for gaseous flow and require temperature/pressure compensation with an accuracy of ± 1.5%. Pressure sensor: The high-pressure side needs to withstand high temperatures (above 125 ℃), and the low-pressure side needs to adapt to negative pressure (which may result in vacuum when the refrigerant is insufficient). Temperature sensor: PT100 platinum resistance sensor is suitable for steady-state high-precision measurement (± 0.1 ℃); Thermocouples have a fast response speed (in milliseconds) and are suitable for transient temperature monitoring. 4. Hardware configuration for data acquisition system design: NI CompactDAQ acquisition devices (16 channels, supporting RTD/thermocouple/voltage input) are used, with pressure/flow sampling rates at steady-state 10Hz and transient 100Hz, temperature sampling rates at steady-state 1Hz and rapidly changing scenarios at 10Hz. Vehicle signals such as compressor speed and expansion valve opening are integrated and read through the CAN bus. Software Platform: Use LabVIEW or Vector CANape to achieve multi parameter same voltage step acquisition, real-time visualization, and data storage. Test Process Preparation Stage: Install sensors and calibrate zero and full range (under static refrigerant pressure), set environmental chamber conditions (such as 38 ℃ high temperature or -20 ℃ low temperature). Basic performance testing: Record COP in cooling mode, temperature difference between inlet and outlet of evaporator (target 8-12 ℃), and power consumption of compressor backup; Monitoring the synergistic efficiency of PTC heater and heat pump in heating mode.
